Youth Service

Youth Summer Mission

This year the HT Youth went to the mountains in June for a National Episcopal Youth Conference at Kanuga, NC.  We joined youth from across the country to develop our faith, have some fun and learn the skills we need to be good missioners.

We will be applying these skills on a local mission weekend, right here in Gainesville in September!

Want to help us get there?  Invest in our summer trip by purchasing stock!  All investors of $25 or more are invited to a Stockholders Dinner on September 23, 2016 to see the fruits of your investment.

Throughout the year, the HT Youth raise money to go on a Mission Trip that they design together. The 2015 trip took the Youth to the Florida Keys to work on several projects with St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church: helping their youth group to set up Vacation Bible School; working with their homeless ministries, and helping to rebuild wetlands. Other years, the youth have traveled to Pennsylvania, Vermont, Colorado, and Costa Rica.

Here is the video from our mission in 2015:

Worship Leadership

Youth ages 10 to 18 assist Holy Trinity priests in worship on Sundays by carrying crosses, flags, banners, torches, and the Gospel, in addition to participating in other service rituals. Contact acolyte masters Todd Reeger, treeger@bellsouth.net  for more information about acolyte training and scheduling.

St. Mary’s Altar Guild welcomes both men and women to assist in preparing the church for worship; to help care for worship linens, vessels, and crosses; and to schedule flowers for the altar. Contact Vandy Thorpe, thorpefam@aol.com To order flowers, contact Jo Petzold, mpetzold@cox.net

Eucharistic Ministers are parishioners who are trained by the clergy and licensed by the Bishop to assist at the Eucharist by leading the Prayers of the People and administering the chalice. Contact the clergy, or Ray Stanwix-Hay, rastanwixhay@aol.com.

“Receive him therefore in the Lord with gladness” Philippians 2:29

The Usher Corps at Holy Trinity Church supports the 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sundays as well as services at other times. Loyal volunteers enjoy a positive fellowship that nurtures their spiritual growth and their membership in the Holy Trinity Church community. Many ushers regularly serve no more than two to three times every six months. New volunteers are welcome! Contact: George Crawford, gb.crawford@ffbf.org
