1st and 2nd Grade

Living the Good News

Sundays, 9:15 am Education Hour
Room 211

This group of children will utilize the curriculum Living the Good News to delve into Biblical stories and bring the weekly readings alive. Children in this age group are full of questions, answers and more questions! A choice of games, group play, arts, prayer and song will enable these children to explore Scripture and challenge themselves to find the answers they most seek while growing and developing their relationship with God. “Let the children come to me.” Matthew 19:14

Children's Chapel

Sundays, 10:30 am Service
Room 203
Led by teachers and clergy

Children begin the 10:30 service with their parents in the church and then are led before the first Scripture reading to Children’s Chapel in Room 203. During Children’s Chapel the children will review the day’s readings and discover the meaning and significance of different aspects of the Episcopal liturgy. After prayers, singing, and crafts related to the lessons, children rejoin their families during the Passing of the Peace.

Solemn Communion

Sundays, 9:15 Education Hour
Room 211
Led by Dee Dugger

Solemn Communion classes for second and third graders (older children are also welcome) will begin in late January. This seven week class meets during the Education Hour, 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM, extending through Children's Chapel. During the class and in Chapel, children will focus on two questions: Who is Jesus? and What is the Holy Eucharist? Children must be baptized in order to participate (last Baptism prior to this is  in early January). Prior registration is necessary because of limited space. Information letters will be mailed in January to all eligible children.
