Just who is this Jesus fellow?

“Who do you think I am?” Christ Jesus asked his earliest followers. ①

As they grew to know him, they answered that question with these words:

“In Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” ②

We at Holy Trinity agree.

In Jesus, God became a human like us. As God’s human face, he shows us who God is and what he is like. As God’s human voice, he tells us what God expects of us.

What does he show us about God?

“God is love.” ③

What does he tell us about what God expects of us?

“Love the Lord your God.” ④

“Love others as much as you love yourself.” ⑤

There’s more to Jesus’ story, but that’s a good start — that in Jesus, we discover that God has but one agenda: love.

That’s why we at Holy Trinity are drawn to Jesus as Lord and brother, model and mentor.
