FIRST-TIME VISITOR?

God welcomes everyone.

Romans 14:3

A bit of a sneak preview for your first visit

First-time visits anywhere can be a bit daunting, so here are some pointers on what to expect when you first visit Holy Trinity.

WHAT TO WEAR?

We’re a mix of Sunday best and cozy casual, so dress comfortably and sensibly.

ARRIVAL

Arrive a bit early, so you can find a seat and get settled.

Greeters will welcome you at the door with a worship bulletin in hand. Don’t be shy about mentioning that you’re a first-timer! They’ll orient you and help you feel at home.

WORSHIP

Our most common worship service is Sunday Eucharist, which includes…

  • Songs of praise.

  • Bible readings and a sermon.

  • Prayers for the needs of one and all.

  • Blessing and sharing bread and wine in communion as Christ Jesus commanded.

Your bulletin will guide you through it. It may refer you to the Book of Common Prayer (red book) or the Hymnal (blue book) at times. If you get lost, just ask a neighbor for help!

WHAT’S UP WITH THE CALISTHENICS?

Ah, yes… Our worship does get physical! We stand to sing, kneel to pray, bow to show respect, and sit for readings and sermons. You can follow along or just sit through it if you like. Make yourself at home.

WHAT ABOUT COMMUNION?

All baptized Christians, no matter what age or label, are welcome to receive communion. Unbaptized or prefer not to commune? Simply come forward and cross your arms over your chest for a blessing. Need to commune at your seat? Just tell an usher.

We hope these pointers help — we look forward to meeting you!
