OUR ROOTS

Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life.

Colossians 2:8
Contemporary English Version

Long roots anchor and feed our church.

At Holy Trinity, our roots are planted in Christ Jesus.

Among his followers, we’re Anglicans (Latin for “English”) — Christians within a worldwide family that grew out of the Church of England planted in the third century. From it, we inherited its take on Christian belief, worship, and spirituality.

As Anglicans, we value…

  • Via Media: A balanced, broad-minded “middle way” bridging both Catholic and Protestant, ever open to drawing on the best in all expressions of Christian faith and life.

  • Common Prayer: Praying and worshiping across differences of opinion through the unifying medium of our Book of Common Prayer.

  • The Three-Legged Stool: Belief and practice grounded in the Bible (read in community through the lens of Christ Jesus), with respect for tradition (insight and experience handed down from past generations of Christians) and reason (using our God-given brains to ask honest questions to reach authentic answers).
